Evodos will award four algae harvesting centrifugals at the ABO summit

Four scientists will receive an Evodos algae harvester at the 2011 ABO Summit as gratitude for their support.
As a sign of gratitude to their support, Evodos will award a state-of-the-art algae harvester to four scientists, Mark Edwards, Mario Tredici, Kirsten Heimann and Rene Wijffels.
Dutch separation technology from Evodos set’s foot on USA soil

Evodos B.V., the leading developer of low energy centrifugal systems, in partnership with their U.S. distributor Kyte Centrifuge, LLC, has announced that they have accepted an order from Algae to Omega Holdings, Inc. for their algae dewatering and harvesting requirements. Evodos will supply the algae harvesting machines for Algae2Omega’s production facilities in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

At this site it will be determined whether the CO2 that is produced by the coal fired power plant can be captured by algae in a cost and energy effective way using MBD Energy’s proprietary ‘BAGS’ system.

Evodos launches web based quotation tool for algae harvesting

Evodos B.V., the developer and producer of ‘high concentration / non chemical’ centrifugal systems, today launched a quotation engine for harvesting algae. With this web-based tool it will be easy for algae farmers to get insight in the cost price of harvesting their algae. The quotation is based on the specific algae strains and growth parameters of the farmer.
State of Pennsylvania Provides $175,000 for Feasibility Study on Integrated Coal-Biomass to Liquids® Plant

The Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent state agency, today approved a $175,000 grant to fund a feasibility study to determine where in Pennsylvania the nation’s first integrated Coal-Biomass to Liquids (CBTL) plant could be built. Carbon Cycle Technology Alliance partners A2BE Carbon Capture LLC and Accelergy Corporation are leading the project, with the assistance of Raytheon Company. The announcement comes on the heels of Accelergy’s collaboration with the United States Air Force, which is currently conducting tests on the Company’s fuels for application as 100 percent non-petroleum based synthetic jet fuel.
Feedstock and Biodiesel Characteristics Report

A new report was released in November 2009, by Renewable Energy Group, Inc. (REG) based on research to procure, refine, esterify, transesterify and filter unique feedstocks from around the world. Thirty six samples were included in the study including novel feedstock such as two varieties of algae, hemp, jatropha, coffee, Moringa Oleifera, castor and many more. The characteristics of the feedstock and the finished biodiesel are both included along with the fatty acid profiles and detailed instructions for the entire production protocol.
